Flinders University is a public university in Adelaide. Founded in 1966, it was named in honour of British navigator Matthew Flinders, who explored and surveyed the South Australian coastline in the early 19th century. Flinders University is a modern university, progressive, student-focused, and career-orientated. Flinders is a member of the Innovative Research Universities (IRU) Group.

Academically, the university pioneered a cross-disciplinary approach to education, and its faculties of medicine and the humanities.

Nursing and Health Sciences

The College of Nursing and Health Sciences is an innovator in contemporary education and is at the heart of advanced learning across the health sector including nursing, midwifery, disability, allied health and health sciences. With over 40 years’ experience in nursing, midwifery, speech pathology and nutrition and dietetics education, and over 30 years' experience in disability education, Flinders are leaders in the health education sector.

Bedford Park
Renowned for its coastal views and natural bushland, Flinders’ Bedford Park campus provides modern buildings and state-of-the-art facilities including a $63 million Student Hub and Plaza, which incorporates study spaces, retail stores, cafes and a bar. The Bedford Park campus is also South Australia’s only university campus with on campus accommodation.  

Flinders at Tonsley is Australia’s first innovation district and a place where collaboration and entrepreneurial spirit combine to create the products and processes of the 21st century. The $125 million facility centrally locates the University’s teaching and research in computer science, engineering and mathematics and is home to the New Venture Institute (NVI) that inspires, educates and connects the future generation of innovators and entrepreneurs.
