How to become a Cyber Security Analyst

You need a Diploma or Bachelor degree in Information Technology, usually with a Cyber Security specialisation to become a Cyber Security Analyst.

  1. Complete a Diploma or Bachelor degree in Computer science, Cyber security, Information Technology or a related field
  2. After completing the formal study international students can stay on in Australia and access the Post Study Work Visa for 2 years (Diploma) or longer (Bachelor) to get some experience in a real-world setting, under the guidance of experienced Cyber Security Analysts in Australia.
  3. Consider further education to enhance your skills. This could be a relevant Bachelor or postgraduate degree, such as a Graduate Certificate in Cyber Security or Master of Information Technology.
