Embracing complexity: thinking and working in systems

When it comes to addressing the complex problem that is population health and health inequities in relation to the COVID-19 crisis, a systems approach is a useful way of thinking and working moving forward. But where do we begin? Dr Melanie Pescud, Senior Research Fellow at the Menzies Centre for Health Governance at the School of Regulation and Global Governance and the Australian Prevention Partnership Centre, discusses some key steps for taking a systems approach and asks us to pause and reflect on the change we seek to make as individuals and as a collective to alchemise the crisis into a catalyst for change.
