QUT Unveils New Double Degree Programs and Exciting Developments for 2024
As 2023 draws to a close, it's time to reflect on the positives of the year and look forward to the exciting opportunities 2024 holds. Queensland University of Technology (QUT) is especially grateful for the incredible efforts of its staff and partners in successfully recruiting students. A heartfelt thank you goes out to everyone involved in guiding our students, past, present, and future, towards choosing QUT.
New Double Degrees in Architecture and Built Environment
QUT is thrilled to introduce a range of innovative double degree programs in architecture and the built environment. These programs are designed to arm students with a versatile skill set, giving them a competitive edge in the dynamic job market. The new courses merge creativity with business and engineering expertise, addressing the multifaceted demands of today’s industry.
Students enrolling in these programs will benefit from the guidance of real-world architects and join QUT, which proudly ranks in the top 100 globally for architecture and built environment (QS World University Rankings by Subject, 2023). The double degree options starting in February 2024 include:
- EB01 Bachelor of Architectural Design/Bachelor of Built Environment (Honours) (Urban and Regional Planning)
- EB02 Bachelor of Architectural Design/Bachelor of Built Environment (Honours) (Construction Management and Quantity Surveying)
- EB03 Bachelor of Architectural Design/Bachelor of Built Environment (Honours) (Interior Design)
- EB04 Bachelor of Architectural Design/Bachelor of Built Environment (Honours) (Landscape Architecture)
- EB05 Bachelor of Architectural Design/Bachelor of Engineering (Honours)
- ID35 Bachelor of Architectural Design/Bachelor of Business
- ID36 Bachelor of Built Environment (Honours) (Interior Design)/Bachelor of Business
For more details, visit the course pages on the QUT website.
Updated Architecture Packages
The AB05 Bachelor of Architectural Design program, available from February 2024, replaces the former Bachelor of Design (Architecture). It's important to note that this undergraduate degree alone doesn't lead to registration as an architect in Australia. Students keen on this path should consider both the undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Agents need to apply for either the standalone AB05 program or the combined package with the DE83 Master of Architecture.
New Mid-Year Entry for Bachelor of Sport and Exercise Science
Starting in 2024, the XN50 Bachelor of Sport and Exercise Science will offer a mid-year entry, increasing flexibility for students. This course update also brings a refreshed curriculum, focusing on anatomy and physiology in a more engaging context for aspiring exercise professionals.
QUT Design Graduates’ Online Showcase
QUT’s 2023 design graduates have launched a new website to exhibit their skills and projects. This initiative comes after their successful showcase events in Brisbane, supported by Brisbane BMW. These events displayed a wide array of student work in interaction, visual communication, fashion, and industrial design.
